Fix Poverty, Vote Republican

Author: Aaron

America’s inner cities have been plagued by poverty and inequality for years and yet little if anything has been done to curb it.  This plague of poverty is fortified by a lack of appropriate funding to places that really desire to cure poverty and inequality.  You see, unfortunately our inner cities have a disturbing cycle that starts with bad education, then leads to bad teachers, which ultimately leads to bad role models.  The prevalence of bad role models is what plagues the education system in many inner cities.  A role model is a person that can always be there for a student, to show the student the right way to go about not just school, but life.  I had role models in middle school and high school, and they led me to the right path in life.

However, education plays a minor role in the reason for failed progress in inner cities.  The Democrats who are primarily viewed at as the ‘kings of social justice’ repetitively fail when it comes to governing inner cities.  They throw programs at the poor and say ‘look this will help you.’ When in reality, the majority of those programs bring with them the mentality that those that are poor, will remain poor as long as we help them stay poor.  Instead of opening up centers for progress and bright futures, the Democrats have opened up centers for free condom distribution and needle exchanges.  They have corrupted to the core the mindset of these individuals.  Instead of acknowledging that there is a wrong taking place, they say ‘look at all the things we’ve done,’ when statistics prove there isn’t much to show for their work.  Instead of preaching hope, they preach mediocrity and a lifestyle where just barely getting by is good enough.

The main theme from Senator Obama’s campaign is that our country needs change, and he could never have been so right.  Inner cities in America do need change, they need to elect Republicans.  The beauty of all of this is that if change does not occur, then the inner cities could go right back and elect Democrats in the next campaign, that is what makes our country so great.  But to not even give the Republicans a shot at curing poverty and inequality would just be silly.

I know that it must be hard for those living in inner cities to vote Republican because time and time again they have been told that it is wrong.  But this is where I ask you to go against your gut.  I know it seems hard and like a big risk, but it will be worth it.

Republicans in this country would like to change and improve the lifestyle of every U.S. citizen.  That’s why Republicans support lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility.  If we’re going to put money into a program, we’re going to make sure it works because we hate wasting taxpayer money.  Republicans are here to make sure that all Americans get to possess most of their hard earned money.

Reform is coming, it just needs to be embraced.

Libertarians support lower taxes, smaller government, and fiscal responsibility. Republican politicians say they do, but act otherwise.

Normally (since I’m a Republican) I would agree with you. Democrats’s so-called “social programs” tend to generate waste rather than actually helping anything. The key to reducing poverty is to strengthen our currency so that poor people can actually afford something with their dollars and cut certain taxes like the capital gains tax in order to encourage more investment, which will allow more businesses to flourish in the area. Ironically, Democrats have been proponents of a higher minimum wage and higher taxes, which create unemployment since the business has to shell out more. So much for helping the little guy.

Unfortunately, the Republicans have turned into something called the neo-conservatives. Essentially, that means a super bloated military, no matter what the cost is. The Bush administration has been pissing away so many dollars that it almost makes me ashamed to be a Republican. Fiscal conservatism is dead under neo-conservatism. We had the opportunity to bring honor back to the party with Ron Paul, but the GOP and the media shunned him away. Until the GOP is purged of neo-conservatism and other fascist measures, I will be sticking with the Libertarian and/or Constitution party.

This country has been taken to hell and back in the last 8 years. You’re right; change is necessary. But that change will only come with a new ideal in the office. Mccain is just another Bush, albeit slightly toned down. We are in a recession because of the GWb…does anyone wnt a depression in our future?
