New Jersey Court Mandates Higher Property Taxes in Galloway

Author: Rory B. Bellows

The power mad dictators in the New Jersey judiciary strike again! This time they struck down a regional contribution agreement (RCA) between Galloway and Bridgeton that would have netted Bridgeton $2.135 million in exchange for construction of 61 affordable housing units.

This agreement was made in 2006 before the legislature voted to end RCAs.

Bridgeton was going to use the money to give grants to 61 homeowners to fix up their houses. Thanks to the autocrats in the judiciary, the seniors in Bridgeton will continue to live in dilapidated housing and the property taxes in Galloway will rise. That’s quite a deal.
