Senate Republicans are getting ready to wave the white flag of surrender on offshore drilling. These ninnies are worried about shutting down the government over an issue that 70 percent of the public agrees with them on. If you are not going to fight when out 7of 10 people agree with you, when are you going to do it?
Instead, they are going to accept some limp wrist “compromise” that will allow a limited amount of offshore drilling, block exploration in ANWR and put over 1 trillion barrels of oil shale off limits.
Whoop de damn do.
Republicans have to get it out of their heads that you can sit down and work with these people on bi-partisian compromise. The only thing that ever gets compromised are any sort of free market limited government beliefs. The only people you ever hear whining about a lack of bi-partisianship in Washington are elite media talking heads. Elite media leftists whine about a lack of compromise because they know they cannot institute complete and total socialism on this country so insead they try to browbeat Republicans into working together with leftists to achieve incremental socialism. The left knows there is no difference between slowly raising the water temperature and boiling yourself to death or shooting yourself in the face with a shotgun. You get the same result.
Think about it, what conservative, limited government, free market principle has ever been achieved through “bi-partisian compromise?” Compromise only hurts Republicans because you cannot sit down and deal in good faith with people who ony want to expand the power of the state, destroy free markets and advocate socialism.
If the Republicans cave in on this issue, every single feckless Republican who breaks ranks deserves to be booted from Washington never to return.
