Legislature Sides with Taxpayers over Teachers

Author: Rory B. Bellows

Assembly Education Committee voted to limit compensation packages to retiring school officials. This issue has clearly reached a critical mass as State Democratic Party Chairman Joe Cryan is the sponsor of the bill. Democrats at all levels are onboard with the proposal, including Gov. Corzine’s Education Commissioner. Teachers Unions are a golden goose for the Democratic Party and it’s unheard of to hear the party break from them. Democrats created this problem by having no accountability or oversight over the compension packages for school officials, so they are doing nothing more than cleaning up their own mess, but this is a step in the right direction for the state of New Jersey so we will take it.
