A Call to Action for Republicans in New Jersey’s 5th District

Author: Rory B. Bellows

Democrats are gunning for 3 term Republican incumbent Scott Garrett’s house seat. Prominent Democrats such as House Majority Leader Stenny Hoyer (D-MD are campaigning and raising money for Garrett’s opponent.

Scott Garrett is one of the finest legislators in the nation. If more Republicans acted like Scott Garrett, we might still have the majority. Scott Garrett is a true red fiscal conservative. He does not talk the talk; he walks the walks, routinely coting against excessive spending bills, increased regulation and for tax cuts and policies that seek to grow our economy and not choke it off. The Club for Growth, a group which acts as a watchdog against excessive government spending and regulation, gave Rep. Garrett a score of 98% in 2007 and 91% in 2006. A score of 90 or above earns that lawmaker a Defender of Economic Freedom Award. We need Republicans like Scott Garrett not only for New Jersey, but for the nation. Scott Garrett is an earnest gaurdian of taxpayer money. He supports the free market and pro-growth policies that made our nation great.

Republicans cannot take any race for granted this fall. Democrats smell blood, and Republicans must match the enthusiasm of our opposition. Join Rep. Garrett’s team. Donate to his campaign. Whatever you do, get involved and keep Scott Garrett in Congress. Send a message to the Democrats. As they say in the commercials, “WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!”
