Governor’s Flawed Budget Near Completion

Author: Rory B. Bellows

Governor Corzine and the Legislature are on the verge of completing the budget before the June 30 deadline.

This budget still contains a number of flaws. Property tax rebates have been eliminated for people making over $150,000 per year. The budget also goes back on phasing out a $246 million energy tax over the next three years. Corzine’s budget keeps it in place for another 3 years.

Way to go, Governor. Keep making it more expensive for people to live in the state. Maybe Corzine feels that if he can drive enough people out of the state, there won’t be enough left to fire him in November of 2009.
