Examining Obama’s Healthcare Plan

Author: Rory B. Bellows

Someone needs to shine the light on the junior senator from Illinois and expose him for what he is: a Marxist. There. I said it. Obama is a marxist. While the rhetoric may seem harsh, a look at Obama’s healthcare plan reveals Soviet style central planning and bureaucracy.

Let’s take a look:

Everything is from Obama’s website.

Obama plans to create a new national healthcare plan available to all Americans. The plan is similar to one offered to members of Congress and have guaranteed eligibility and portability. Obama will also provide subsidies to those who cannot afford to purchase private insurance.

If this was the end of Obama’s plan it would be noxious for sure, but it gets worse. Beyond creating a massive entitlement, Obama wants to create a new agency whose primary purpose is to put private insurers out of business.

Obama proposes creating a National Health Insurance Exchange. The NHIE is tasked with acting as the government “watch dog” against the private insurance market. From Obama’s website:

The Exchange will act as a watchdog group and help reform the private insurance market by creating rules and standards for participating insurance plans to ensure fairness and to make individual coverage more affordable and accessible. Insurers would have to issue every applicant a policy and charge fair and stable premiums that will not depend upon health status. The Exchange will require that all the plans offered are at least as generous as the new public plan and have the same standards for quality and efficiency. The Exchange would evaluate plans and make the differences among the plans, including cost of services, public.

So the exchange will regulate the manner and cost in which private insurers provide coverage. How will private insurers be able to compete with the government’s plan that is giving away care for “free” and guaranteeing access to everyone? The simple answer is that they cannot. Obama’s goal is a backdoor to nationalized medicine. He creates the circumstances that make it impossible for private insurers to remain in business so Americans only healthcare alternative is the government sponsored, Soviet style centralized healthcare plan.

Senator Obama is a Marxist.

No one should be surprised that most policies Obama espouses are Soviet-like. According to his own book, “Dreams of My Father”, he aligned himself carefully and purposely with “Marxist professors”. The direct citation: ” I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.” This man has never be representative of the fundamental ideas of American society. There is a scary trend in his ideology that is clearly evidenced almost every day. I work in the Healthcare IT field for a major provider of Healthcare software ranging from Admissions, radiology, EMR’s, ED and financials. I manage our group who has to implement our software which allows hospitals to bill Insurance companies. It is incredible the amount of duplication of effort, inconsistency and lack of clarity that exists in our health care system as it stand today. Obama’s plan will only amplify the red tape that providers and payers face.
