New Jersey Looks to Give $10.4 Million in Handouts to Gubernatorial Candidates

Author: Rory B. Bellows

The Star Ledger reports that New Jersey is raising the amount of public money available to candidates from $9.1 million in 2005 to $10.4 million in 2009.

Two quick points:

1) Why am I having my money confiscated by government to be given to politicians I may not support to pay for their campaigns?

2) Not for nothin’, but if you can’t raise enough money on your own to run a campaign, is your campaign worth running?
