Lame Lautenberg

Author: Rory B. Bellows

Senator Frank Lautenberg offered a lame response to Republican Dick Zimmer’s debate challenge. Senator Lautenberg’s answer to Zimmer and State Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr’s, calls to debate was that they were “Bush clones.”

Lautenberg’s long career in politics has been marked by a steady stream of insults to hide the fact that he is disengaged on issues. In his first senate campaign waaaaaaaaaaay back in 1982, Lautenberg used his opponent’s age against her. Six years later he attacked his opponent as a carpetbagger. This campaign will be marked by the Senator’s ramblings about his opponent being George Bush despite Zimmer’s clear differences with the President.

If my campaign was based on higher taxes, higher spending levels and higher gas prices I suppose I would resort to name calling.
