The Corzine Whitewash on Email-Gate

New Jersey GOP Chairman Tom Wilson is demanding to know what evidence the Governor turned over to an ethics panel that cleared him of any conflict of interest in his labor negotiations with ex-girl friend Carla Katz. Both members of this panel, former Attorney General John Farmer and former state Supreme Court Justice Daniel O’Hern, were appointed to the panel by Governor Corzine.

While this certainly doesn’t look like an independent body, Chairman Wilson is challenging the fact that he does not believe the pair saw all the evidence related to the case. Given that Corzine has made contradictory and false statements about the matter and the fact that a New Jersey Judge has ruled that the Governor had a conflict on interest, it is not out of the realm of possibility to suggest the Governor may not have been forthcoming with the ethics panel.
